Free-Response Essay Rubric
Points will be assigned/deducted in the following categories:
| Points | Category | |
| 1 | meeting deadline | The date and time stamp on the post will be used to determine whether you met the deadline or not. More than one point may be deducted for posts that are excessively late. |
| 5 | each part of question is answered | Address each part of the question. Read the question carefully to make sure that you do not overlook part of it. |
| 4 | answer is factual | Do not include erroneous information. |
| 3 | thorough answers | Answer each part of the answer completely. Do not go through the motions. Make sure that one you are not just restating something that you have read somewhere else. Rather, strive to convince me that you understand the answer by explaining the answer thoroughly and in your own words. |
| 2 | uniqueness | You must strive to make you post unique. Research the topic deeper or give more insightful explanations than those who have posted before you. |
| -1 | poor spelling | More points may be deducted if spelling is atrocious. |
| -1 | poor grammar | More points may be deducted if grammar is atrocious. |
| miscellaneous | More points may be deducted or added to your score at my discretion. | |
