  5. Work on the inventory chart for long-range hardware / equipment replacement plan (computers, software, textbooks, shop equipment, video cameras, etc.)
  6. Computer Literacy: zip files, gif/jpg, email attachments, how viruses work, folders vs tags/labels
  7. Internet literacy: copyright issues, computer ethics, social networking issues (MySpace, FaceBook etc)
  8. Information literacy: validity of sites, wikis

    1. assessment logs - Here is CM's method of assessing many unit tests. Make sure that your assessments match what the students are actually learning and doing in class. You must do an assessment analysis once every 3 or 4 weeks and involve another teacher in your analysis & reflection.

  2. CM - eschoolbook: green - students don't see at all, purple - students do see but "I" is listed as overall grade, blue - students do see but it isn't included on their "outstanding" list of ass'ts, orange - students see and it counts as a zero

  9. Learn to use free, web-based applications such as Google Apps (Docs & Spreadsheets wiki ; wiki , review ). What role can they play in our curriculum or dep't business?

Aug. 25, 2010 -

  1. On Aug 25 (1st day of in-service), we will have a 1 hr 15 min meeting. We'll go over lab issues (common rules, access to student files, etc)
  2. On Aug 26, you will be doing data analysis and goal-setting in Room 202.
  3. Computer Science Education Act, H.R. 5929 is a bill to help fund and improve computer science education - link1 - link2 - link3 - link4
