Cost Comparison Worksheet Assignment


Purpose:    To demonstrate the ability to plan and build a worksheet.

Problem:    You have decided to purchase a new car and want to compare various prices you found listed on the World Wide Web. You are ordering a car with seven options: air conditioning, automatic transmission, stereo, power steering, anti-lock braking system, cruise control, and an extended warranty (you may choose options other than those listed but  you must have at least seven total). Create a worksheet to compare prices for three different vehicles.

Instructions:    Design and create the Cost Comparison Sheet. Use the techniques learned in MS Excel Project 1 to create a worksheet which includes data obtained from the Web. Use on the of the auto formats available in Excel to format the worksheet. Two web sites which provide car prices are:    www.compare.net  and www.carprices.com   .

  1. Include a 3-D column chart that compares the Grand Total prices of the 3 cars.
  2. Enter your name below the chart in column A. In the cells directly beneath your name, enter your course, the assignment date, and your instructor's name.
  3. Save the workbook and completed chart as "Cost Comparison Sheet".
  4. Print the workbook and the chart.
