Introduction to the textbook, Macromedia Dreamweaver 4, by Guthrie & Soe

Hand in your name, email address, phone number, and a summary of any previous Web design experience (courses, projects, URLs, HTML, Dreamweaver, Frontpage, etc.) on a piece of paper

Discuss Figure 1-3 on p. 7 (La Bonne Cuisine web page). Be able to identify the HTML tags in Figure 1-3 that correspond with characteristics of the web page in Figure 1-2. You should be able to write this HTML if asked to do so on a quiz at the next class.

Review the HTML tags on Table 1-1 on pp. 9 &10. Be able to describe, identify, and write HTML code using these tags if asked to do so on a quiz.

Introduction to Macromedia Dreamweaver and obtaining the software.

Homework Assignment:

• By Thursday - Read Ch. 1 thoroughly.
• By Thursday - Finish or redo the tutorials on pp. 23, 27, & 34 for practice.
• By Thursday - Prepare for a possible quiz on Figure 1-3 on p. 7 or Table 1-1 on pp. 9 & 10.
• By Tuesday - Install Dreamweaver on your home computer if possible.
• By Tuesday - Do as many of the Hands-On Projects on pp. 38-42 as time allows.
• By Tuesday - Do the second Case Project on p. 42 (resume) and save as resume.htm on your floppy disk. Be sure to bring this (as well as ALL files that you create outside of class) file to class. It could be checked and/or collected.
• By Tuesday - Write out the answers to Review Questions #1-20 on pp. 36 & 37. Be prepared to submit this paper with the answers if it is collected.
